*"   This chapter was pretty long. The last one ended with Rose falling asleep in her room at night, and this one begins someday in March. Spring weather is coming, and things are growing fast. One day, Almanzo comes home with a cow and calf, and Laura and Rose name them Bunting and Spark.
So now they have milk, which means butter and cream. And with the crops growing nicely, things look good. When their neighbor moves away (and after a little while of thought) they decide to buy the land that joins with theirs, which adds another twenty acres to their plot.
Another time skip, and it's April. The Wilders and the Bairds are whitewashing the apple trees that the Wilders own (because apparently whitewashing apple trees helps with the fruit, even though that sounds like it would kill the poor plant).
As they're doing such, they notice a bunch of bees. After a while, they decide that they could probably find the hive, which would give a good amount of honey. So, Abe promises them he'll find it (as he has done it before).
And that's how the chapter ends."

*"   In this chapter, the last chapter of "In the Land of the Big Red Apple", Abe and Effie were getting married (if they were even real. Some think the characters were made up for the story.) As a gift for the wedding, Laura and Rose cleaned the Baird's small house and whitewashed the kitchen. After that (which lasted about a week) there was the actual wedding.
It took place outside, where all those invited sat and waited. Then Effie came out, clad in white, and she and Abe were married. It was short, and in all honesty, Rose was a bit disappointed at that, but after, there was the feast. They all ate the good food until they were satisfied and full.
Once the dishes were put away, the dancing began. At least, the music did. At first, everyone was a little nervous. But as one couple after the other danced, many joined in. Everyone danced faster and faster, and every face was smiling and happy. For Rose, it was a grand evening\night.
It ended in a beautiful narration, with Rose feeling as if she was being lifted up and out into the "perfect moon-kissed night"."

*"This chapter of The Outsiders was pretty.... interesting. Two-it, Ponyboy, and Johnny managed to convince the girls to let them drive them home. As they walked to Two-Bit's house (he had left his car there), they talked. And talked and talked. Marcie and Two-Bit joked around, while Ponyboy and Cherry talked seriously. Johnny would just stay silent.
While walking, some "Socs" showed up and started to harass them. Before they could start fighting, Cherry decided to end it and go with the Socs ( they were Marcie's and her's technically ex-boyfriends.) She then told Ponyboy, quietly, that it would probably be better if they didn't socialize with each other, and that it wasn't personal. Which hurt pretty bad, but he agreed.
Walking home, Two-Bit revealed he had gotten Marcies' number, but he tore it up, saying it was probably fake. Then he left, to drink and play cards somewhere. Johnny and Ponyboy decided to lay down in an empty lot and smoke and talk.
Then, because they were tired, they both fell asleep. When they woke up, it was about 2 in the morning, and Ponyboy freaked out. His brothers, he knew, would not be happy. So he crept home, hoping they were asleep. They were not. At Least Darry wasn't, while Soda was passed out on the couch.
Darry was furious at him, yelling about how worried they were. Ponyboy, kind of used to it, stayed silent. Well, that is, until he yelled at Soda for intervening. Then He blew up, screaming at Darry not to yell at his brother.
Then Darry, too angry to realize it, turned and slapped him across the face, which no family member had ever done. Too stunned and hurt to say anything, Ponyboy ran out without looking back. He ran all the way back to Johnny (who was still in the lot), woke him up and told him they were running away.
It wasn't until they had run a few blocks, sat down out of breath, and Ponyboy started to cry, that Johnny finally asked what happened. And he told him. Johnny let him cry it out, and by then, Ponyboy had calmed down. He told him that if they walked to the park and back, he might be willing to go home.
  So, he agreed.
Which turned out to be a terrible choice."

*" This chapter is long in pages, but in info...? There isn't much that happens. Two-bit and Ponyboy go to the hospital to visit Johnny. At first, the nurse wouldn't let them in, but the doctor came by and allowed them to visit. They sat and talked with him for a little bit, then Two-bit left to get him some "hair grease and another gone with the wind copy" while Ponyboy stayed behind and continued to talk.
Right before Two-bit returned, Johnny's mother arrived, wanting to see him. Obviously, he didn't want to see her (his parents were abusive). She was demanding it, but the nurses didn't want him to be uncomfortable, so they refused to let her in. After they left Johnny, they visited Dally who was fine, except for a sore arm and a few burns, I think.
He asked for Two-bit's switchblade, which he gave to him, for some reason, and they left. On the way home, they bumped into Cherry, and her and Ponyboy started talking. He got angry at something she said and started to leave, but she made him stop.
They talked a little more, nothing super important, and made up. He noticed she had green eyes, then went home. Kinda random, but okay.
                That's how the chapter ended."

*"In this chapter, Hazel goes to Augustus' house to watch V for Vendetta. Not much happens, but the reader learns a little more about her cancer and experience with it for the past 3 years.
She then meets his parents, and he tells her about his time before he got some sort of cancer. He had been into sports but quit when he lost interest in them, and then he went in for surgery and had one leg amputated.
They talk about their hobbies and interests, and both agree to switch books they like to see if they'll like the other one. Then they watch the movie and eat dinner. After that, Hazel drives (using Augustus' car) back home. They both talked a little more, and then she went inside.
And that was how the chapter ended."

*" This chapter, which was pretty short, began with Hazel screaming to wake her parents up. A super painful headache exploded inside her skull, so painful she couldn't keep screaming because any movement or sound hurt.
She awoke in the ICU and found that her lungs had filled with fluids, causing her different pains and headaches. She stayed there a good while, like two or three days, and was eventually allowed to go home. While she was getting ready, Augustus came in and talked to her. He told her that she couldn't go to Amsterdam with him until she was okay (obviously), but Peter Van Houten had sent a bit more of his "brilliant mind" in a letter, which he gave to Hazel.
She waited until she was back home to read it, in which Peter really just talked about dead people and how they should or could be remembered and different things like that. It was a little interesting to read, mainly for the large vocabulary, but it really didn't have much to say other than what I wrote previously.
After reading it, she called for her mom and asked if she could talk to Hazel's doctor to see if international travel would kill her. And that's where it ended."

*" This chapter was about as long as the other one, unfortunately.

Hours had passed and Stephanie's body had been taken already. The purse hadn't been found, and nothing of importance had been found in the car either. Maggie turned to dusting. She covered a good portion of the nearby car in her fingerprinting dust, much to the dislike of the owner.
The chapter turned then to Jack and Riley as they headed back to the station, making a stop at Shania's gym just in case. When they entered, they were addressed by a slender woman behind the desk. She, once she was informed as to why they wanted to know about one of their clients, told them that she had left about a half hour ago.
They asked some questions and managed to find out from the second girl behind the desk that Shania had borrowed someone's phone and about fifteen minutes after she called, a guy came and picked her up. The phone owner's name was Jeanna.
So, of course, they asked for Jeanna. And, of course, Jeanna had left already as well.
   The chapter ended there."

*" This chapter was pretty quick.
By the time Maggie finished examining the scene, everyone had left. Jack and Riley had cleared the building and were going to eventually tell Roth another employee was dead, but for now, she was left to herself. The place was quiet.
So as she walked around. she looked about her at the places where the people worked. The tables, chairs, lounge, everything she walked by. She ended up finding a rope, similar to the ones that were used on the victims. It wasn't earth-shattering. It was a typical rope that was probably used a lot. But still.
While she stood there, she felt certain someone was watching her. A shadow moved, a sound was heard. She stayed still, looking around. It was dark, and she was alone. Anything could've happened.
Thank goodness, however, it just turned out to be Kevin Harding. She was a little scared at first, thinking he was going to harm her, but he ended up being fine. He gave her a box cutter to take a bit of the rope. She accepted and cut a little.
Then he inquired if she wanted to be escorted to her car, and she denied it. Seeing a light on in an upstairs office, she decided she had a tiny bit more investigating to do.
  It ended there."

*" This chapter begins shortly after the last one left off. Maggie goes home after the bar fight and talks to her brother over some cinnamon toast (a favorite of theirs). She asked him why he would take such a long flight, just to talk to her and try to get something out of her.
So, of course, he said, being her brother, he knew when she was keeping something from him. So she told him. Not all of it, of course, but enough to more or less satisfy him. So they talked, and by the end, Maggie got a phone call.
It was Jack, telling her that they found Shania Paulson.
The chapter goes to about an hour earlier, where Jack and Riley were outside an apartment. It was the home of Tyler Truss. As he allowed the cops in, rather unhyped, there she was, on the couch. Shania Paulson.
So they placed her under arrest.
   The chapter ended there."

*" Unfortunately, I had to return the book I got to the library, so the last two chapters will have to be combined in a summary from memory.
Not much happened, really. Maggie's ex-husband met Lorrie Russo in person and was more willing to answer her questions because of how she looked (gag). After talking with her, not very long though, he began to have suspicions about Jack and Maggie. Suspicions that could get them in trouble.
Meanwhile, Jack sat in the hospital, waiting for Maggie to come around from her meds and painkillers. The immense pain she went through was because the cartilage around her shoulder was torn, and I think it was pulled from the socket as well.
When she did wake up, he immediately asked why she did it. He was confused why she'd risk herself to save him because he didn't think he'd have done the same.
Since she was a little loopy, he didn't find her answers exactly plausible. All she really said was, you would've done the same. But would he have? He didn't know. He just knew one thing. Maggie and he were not friends. They weren't associates. They weren't even really close.
So why did she save him? He almost wished she didn't, just for a minute, but quickly stopped thinking that way. Although he did almost feel bad enough to tell her he was, in fact, the one who killed Ronald Soltis. But that wouldn't have helped their situation in any way. So he kept that to himself.
Thus, that book ended. I think there are more books in the series, so I might continue reading them, if I can."
